Welcome!
I am Hayley, a Registered Counselling Therapist based in Kjipuktuk, Mi’kma’ki (Halifax, Nova Scotia), offering individual counselling online.

About Me
I’m Hayley (they/she)! I am a queer, neurodivergent, non-binary person and Registered Counselling Therapist-Candidate (RCT-C) living and working in Kjipuktuk, Mi’kma’ki (Halifax, Nova Scotia).
As a white settler, my approach to counselling is through an anti-oppressive and decolonial lens. Through reflection, I am learning and unlearning how I can change my own practice and challenge systems of oppression. I support my growth through supervision, continual education, consultation, and personal therapy.
In my free time, I’m often crocheting, reading fantasy books, watching nature documentaries, and testing gluten-free recipes. I also love to take walks outside meeting all the neighbourhood cats.

My Approach
My journey to this field has been one of self-examination, exploration, and healing. This informs how I show up and create space for others. I am passionate about supporting the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and neurodivergent community through identity exploration, systems navigation, relationships, and trauma.
My approach to counselling is informed by queer theory, the neurodiversity paradigm, feminist theory and attachment. These theories and paradigms are surrounded by cultural responsiveness, trauma-informed approaches, person-centred practices and strengths-based approaches.
I value consent and the right to make your own decisions and change your mind. I view you as the expert of your life and value your lived experience. I approach my sessions with respect, humility, and determination to uphold your autonomy and self-determination.
I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS) parts-work, Narrative Therapy, and attachment theory. Depending on the needs of the individual, I may pair those with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). I support folks navigating a range of experiences, including anxiety, depression, life transitions, gender and sexuality, grief, interpersonal challenges, and trauma.
Therapy Services
Individual Counselling
I am currently offering individual sessions online or by telephone for adults ages 19+. In these sessions we will explore your inner and outer world and how the two are impacting each other. Together, we will unpack past experiences and identify patterns that are no longer serving you. This process helps to build trust within yourself and compassion toward yourself. It provides you the space to explore experiences, feel emotions, and move toward a way of being that feels right for you. This is your space and time to slow down and define what you need, and I will be along side you throughout the journey.
50 Minute Sessions – $170
Relational Counselling
I am currently offering relational counselling informed by the Gottman Method through online sessions for adults ages 19+. Whether you are a romantic couple, polycule, co-parents, or family/chosen family, relational counselling can help you to explore both yourself and the relationship. In these sessions we will review your current dynamics, build empathy and trust, and learn a new way of communicating to foster a healthier and more meaningful connection.
The first session will be 90 minutes with following sessions being the usual 50 minutes.
50 Minute Sessions – $190
